PESHAWAR, Dec 29: The newly-elected president Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, Pir Sabir Shah, on Thursday said after completion of the party's organisational network, a massive movement would be launched in the province against the government's failure to contain high inflation and joblessness.

During a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club here, Mr Pir Sabir praised the PML-N provincial council for electing him unopposed and said he would reorganise the party at the grassroots level.

He said the (Pakistan) Muslim League was essential for stable and united Pakistan, adding that it was his party that always raised voice for the national security.

The PML-N leader said his was the only political party that could pull the country out of current socioeconomic and security crises but conspiracies were being hatched to weaken it.

He, however, said such conspiracies would be thwarted by party workers.Flanked by central PML-N leader Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, provincial general secretary Rehmat Salam Khattak, senior vice president Anwar Kamal and senior leader Malik Jehanzeb, he said his party had played a vital role in national development and would come to power yet again after winning the next elections.

Mr Pir Sabir said after accepting the party's top office, it was a big challenge for him and his colleagues to come up to the expectations of the leadership as there was no room for negligence.

He said a mass contact movement would be begun at the union council, tehsil and district levels to strengthen PML-N in the province and for that purpose, conventions would be held in all districts.

“Our mission is to serve the people and take proactive steps for amicable solution of their problems. We will protect ideological boundaries of the party and foil all conspiracies hatched against it,” he said.
