HYDERABAD: Senior Cardiologist of LUMHS, Professor Dr. Nadeem Anwar Khan has expressed grave concern over increasing number of overweight children.

He said serious efforts are required to motivate the parents to control the weight of such children to save them from heart diseases.

Talking to this scribe here on Friday he said people become the victims of heart diseases due to overweight and it is an alarming fact that there are 155 million overweight and obese children globally and if their weight remain uncontrolled, the situation could become worst.

He said the parents of overweight children should take the situation seriously to avert the future multiple complications.

The parents should help their children in reducing their weight through healthy diet and active physical activities to avoid major risk factors of heart diseases.
