ISLAMABAD, Nov 21: ISPR, US Embassy and Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf all denied that ISI chief Lt Gen Shuja Pasha had facilitated a meeting between US Ambassador Cameron Munter and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

“It is totally baseless and concocted story,” a military spokesman said while reacting to a report carried by Sunday Times of London.

The report, which was reproduced by a number of national newspapers, claimed that Imran Khan was recently introduced to Ambassador Munter in the presence of ISI chief Gen Pasha.

It gave the impression that Imran Khan was being backed and promoted by the security establishment.US Embassy Spokesman Robert Raines said there was no such meeting in which Ambassador Munter met both Gen Pasha and Imran Khan together.

A statement issued by PTI's media cell said: “This item is totally fabricated and false and appears to be an attempt to provide support to the false propaganda unleashed by the PML-N and its coterie that the PTI had the support of the establishment.”
