The agencies were not involved in making the PTI public meeting in Lahore successful: PM Gilani - Photo by AFP

LAHORE: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said that there was no need for the federal government to show muscles to prove its strength.

He expressed these views while responding to a question about showing of power by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) through holding a public meeting like the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) or Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI).

“Since, we are in the government, and the government doesn't need to show power or muscles to prove its strength”, Gilani said.

Talking to newsmen after addressing the 125th Year Celebrations of Aitchison College, he rejected the allegations of PML-N, JUI and other parties and made it clear that the agencies were not involved in making the PTI public meeting in Lahore successful.

He said that most of the political parties were coalition partners in the federal government, therefore, the parties or the public were not wary of democratic set-up.
