KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain congratulated President Asif Ali Zardari on the success of the conference in Istanbul, DawnNews reported.

According to a statement issued from the MQM’s London secretariat, Mr Hussain congratulated Mr Zardari over the conference in a telephone call.

Moreover, Mr Zardari praised Mr Altaf for holding a rally in Karachi in support of the government and the democratic setup at large.

Mr Zardari said the MQM was playing a vital role in strengthening democracy and helping the government to move forward at a crucial time.
