DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 15: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal nominee for premiership, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, has informed the Election Commission that he is vacating NA-25, Dera Ismail Khan-cum-Tank, and would keep NA-24.

Maulana Attaur Rahman, the younger brother of Maulana Fazlur Rahman, has submitted a written application with Deputy Election Commissioner, Dera Ismail Khan, that the JUI-F leader would keep NA-24 and vacate NA-25.

Earlier, Sardar Inayatullah Khan Gandapur, former Chief Minister of NWFP, also vacated PF-67 (Kulachi) keeping PF-66.

JUI-F sources said that Maulana Attaur Rahman would contest for NA-25.

It has created some sort of resentment among the people of Tank who had voted for MMA candidate with their commitment that JUI-F chief would, if elected from both the constituencies, keep NA-25 in the parliament but with the present decision, the commitment was not fulfilled.

On the other hand, it has been disclosed that Dawar Kundi would once again contest for NA-25 on PPP ticket. During elections, Mr Kundi was strong rival of MMA candidate.

On PF-67 (Kulachi), which has been vacated by Sardar Inayatullah Khan Gandapur, another strong contest between Gandapurs and Miankhels, is expected. Sardar Israrullah Khan, the youngest son of Sardar Inayatullah Khan, who is presently an elected Tehsil Nazim at Kulachi, would be the strongest candidate whereas Umar Farooq Khan Miankhel, former MNA, would be his rival candidate.
