KARACHI: Young Rising Star WFC beat Diya Women WFC 4-3 on penalties at Jinnah Football Stadium, Islamabad as the match remained tied after extra time.

Hajra Khan of Diya opened the scoring in the 18th minute and Maliak Noor of YRS equalised through a penalty kick in the second half.

After both the teams failed to score during twenty minutes of extra time, the match went to penalties through which YRS secured the 2011 National Women Championship.

Paul Malloy, Deputy High Commissioner of the Australian embassy was the chief guest of the final, along with Ahmed Yar Lodhi, Secretary of the Pakistan Football Federation.

The winner's trophy along with Rs 0.3million was awarded to YRS captain by the chief guest, the runner-up trophy and Rs 0.2 million were given to Diya Club while Wapda got the third position trophy and Rs one hundred and fiftythousand.
