LAHORE: Former Pakistan cricket captain, Rashid Latif, has urged Shahid Afridi to withdraw his decision of retirement.

“At the time when former skipper Shahid Khan Afridi is transmitting mixed signals about his return to the international scene, I feel that it is high time the dynamic all-rounder should review his decision,” he said in a statement here on Friday.

“During a domestic match, spectators turned up in huge numbers to see Afridi which is a testimony of his immense popularity and support. The public has given its verdict, now the ball is in Afridi's court and he should respond positively,” said Rashid Latif.

Captain Shahid Afridi led the Karachi Dolphins to victory against Islamabad Leopards on Thursday with an all-round performance. After taking 3 wickets he scored 58 runs.

“You can't judge how much time is left in a player by his age; even in the present team a few players don't seem to have too much time in their hands. The point is that Afridi is able and fit, therefore he should listen to the people's call and make a comeback,” said the former wicketkeeper.
