KARACHI: A bench of Sindh High Court headed by Justice Muhammad Tasnim on Monday granted bail to Afaq Ahmed, chief of Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-Haqiqi) against a solvent surety of Rs.01 million in a murder case.

Afaq was booked in murder case of MQM activist Atiqur Rehman in the limits of PS Nabi Bux in June 2009,    The court heard arguments of Afaq's Counsel on plea seeking bail and quashing of FIR of the murder case.

He submitted before the court that no evidence against Afaq was found by the police and his client had nothing to do with the case because he had been in jail since April 2004 while the incident took place in the year 2009.

Granting bail, the court also directed the trial court to complete the proceeding of the case within the next three months.
