Pakistan thrashed Thailand to claim second place in Group C and qualified for the second round of 16th Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship underway in Tehran, Iran.

Pakistan brushed aside Thailand recording a straight-set 25-19, 25-21 26-28 triumph to claim six points in the group and are placed behind first-placed Japan.

Earlier, Pakistan put top-side Japan to the test, stretch their match on Thursday in five sets (the fifth being the tie-breaker) before losing 25-20, 26-28, 21-25, 25-16, 15-5.

The second round of the Asian Mens Volleyball Championship will begin on Sunday (25th September).

Sixteen teams are featuring in the event.
