LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif gave a detailed briefing to Pakistan Muslim League-N President Nawaz Sharif at a high level meeting held on Monday regarding the measures against dengue virus, provision of medical facilities to the patients and the performance of helpline set up for the guidance of the people.

The Chief Minister said that all out resources are being utilized for curbing dengue virus and the on-going campaign in this regard had been further intensified.

He said the scope of the programme for controlling dengue virus was being extended to the whole province. He said medicines and equipment were being imported from abroad on emergent basis to eliminate dengue virus.

He said 100 foggers will arrive from Germany during this week while 1000 nurses were also been recruited immediately.

He said data of dengue patients were being computerized while free medical facilities were being extended to dengue fever patients at private hospitals.

PML-N President eulogised the steps taken against dengue virus and commended the services of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his team in this regard.

He lauded the performance of the Sri Lankan medical team and hoped they would succeed in finding a cure for dengue virus.

The members of Sri Lankan medical team informed the meeting that they had visited various hospitals for reviewing the treatment facilities being extended to the dengue fever patients and found the arrangements excellent.
