KARACHI: Appreciating the steps taken to restore peace in Karachi, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said any hurdles on the road to peace would not be tolerated, DawnNews reported.

In a telephonic conversation with Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Prime Minister Gilani expressed satisfaction on the role of the interior ministry with regard to the security situation in Karachi.

Prime Minister Gilani said that the government would continue to take steps for Karachi's security until the last criminal was apprehended.

Mr Malik apprised the prime minister of the surgical action in Karachi and said that significant evidence has been recovered from arrested 'target killers'.

The evidence has led to the elimination of nine criminal gangs from Karachi's different areas, including Lyari. — DawnNews
