ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan on Tuesday said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will continue policy of reconciliation shown by the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and President Asif Ali Zardari.

Addressing a press conference here, she said: “Leadership of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has reposed full confidence in PPP leadership and in the policy of reconciliation of President Zardari.”

She said policy of reconciliation being pursued by the leadership of the Peoples Party would lead the country to prosperity.

She said statement of Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza was his personal opinion and the PPP did not have anything to do with his outbursts.

She said the actions and statements of individual would not harm the reconciliation process initiated by PPP leadership to secure better future for the country.

She said President Asif Ali Zardari has acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by the Speaker of the National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza for democracy and the conduct such as of Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza would do no harm to her services.

To a question, she said there was no need for constituting a judicial commission to probe the allegations levelled by Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza since the Supreme Court was dealing with it.

She said the government has provided the evidence and documents to the court about target killings in Karachi.

She said operation in Karachi will continue without any discrimination till restoration of law and order.
