ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday confirmed four additional judges of Peshawar High Court and three additional judges of Lahore High Court.

Presidential Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that the additional judges of the LHC who were confirmed included Justice Sagheer Ahmad Qadri, Justice Kh. Imtiaz Ahmed and Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan.

The four additional judges of the PHC confirmed are Justice Attaullah Khan,  Justice Miftahuddin Khan, Justice Mian Fasihul Mulk and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel.

Earlier the Parliamentary Committee on the appointment of judges had unanimously endorsed the nomination of these judges for confirmation by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.

After the due constitutional process the President acting on advice of the Prime Minister accorded his assent on Wednesday to confirm them as Additional Judges of the respective High Courts, he said.
