ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday congratulated Ch. Abdul Majeed for being elected Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
In his message of felicitation, the Prime Minister hoped that the Premier would work selflessly for the well-being of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, regardless of the political affiliations.
He urged Ch. Majeed to follow a policy of reconciliation of Pakistan Peoples Party and take all political parties on board on matters of public importance
As many as 46 members of AJK Legislative Assembly participated in the election and cast their vote for AJK premiership. Pakistan Muslim League's (PML-N) candidate Raja Farooq Haider obtained 11 votes in the election.
The members of AJK assembly cast their votes alphabetically. Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly Ghulam Sadiq announced the name of Prime Minister AJK.
The newly elected Prime Minister expressed hope that he would work selflessly for the well-being of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
