MUZAFFARABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) has filed a petition requesting the suspension of the results of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly elections, DawnNews reported.

The petition, filed at the high court in Muzaffarabad, requested the court to suspend the election results in two constituencies.

Moreover, the petition requested the court to allow the announcing of an election schedule in the AL-31 constituency only after new voter lists had been prepared.

Earlier on Monday, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) against the postponement of the elections in Karachi for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

The MQM petitioned the court to declare the AJK elections illegal on grounds of alleged government interference in the process and the Election Commission’s postponement of the polls in Karachi. — DawnNews
