ISLAMABAD, June 27: At the start of monsoon, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday decided to remove Katchi Abadis along the banks of drains in high risk zones.

In a press release, the authority said the measure was necessary for smooth flow of rainwater. Mian Waheed ud Din, CDA's acting chairman, directed the relevant departments to start cleaning of nullahs.

The acting chairman also gave an approval for establishing flood relief cell. The National Disasters Management Authority (NDMA) has agreed to provide rescue boats to the authority. —Staff Reporter
