LAHORE: Pakistan People's Party Punjab alleged that Punjab police openly supported the PML-N in rigging in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections here on Sunday.

Iqbal Sialvi, PPP Punjab Deputy Information Secretary, told APP that in an incident Qaisar Mushtaq, DSP Misri Shah, tried to frighten PPP workers at Junior Model Girls School Shadbagh polling station.

He said the DSP forcefully ousted PPP workers from the polling station.

Later, PPP workers left the polling station when they were told by the presiding officer that polling had been stopped so they should go home but he alleged that after two hours the presiding officer again started polling without taking the PPP candidate into confidence.

“When I revisited the polling station after some time, I saw they were casting bogus votes so I protested against it,” he added.

He condemned the attitude of the police and said elections in the city were like the Zia referendum.
