KINGSTON: West Indies cricket board directors are meeting here on Friday to determine whether Chris Gayle will feature in their Test series against India starting next week.

The West Indies batsman is in hot water following his recent controversial comments in an interview with a Jamaican radio station.

The directors will discuss a report from chief executive Ernest Hilaire on last Tuesday's meeting with Gayle, following which they are expected to announce whether the opener is likely to feature in the Test series.

Gayle skipped West Indies' home series against Pakistan to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the lucrative Indian Premier League, where he was the leading scorer in the tournament.

He did not play in the just-ended One-day International series against India, although he made himself available.
