ISLAMABAD, June 4: A villager was murdered in capital's rural areas over one foot piece of land, police said on Saturday.

Mohammad Ghazanfar has been running a dispute with his cousins over the measuring of land since its distribution among the inheritors.

On Friday, he came over the lands measuring 1.5 kanal in village Pind Parian of Tarnol and started marking his land.

Spotting him at the fields his cousins came over there and both the parties got engaged in heated argument.

The cousins claimed that he had taken over the one foot piece of his land, which he denied. As a result a scuffle broke out between them.

During the scuffle one of his cousins pulled out his pistol and fired a shot at Ghazanfar which hit in the right side of his chest. As a result he fell on the ground and started bleeding.

The attackers escaped from the scene leaving him in a pool of blood. Later the police were informed and the injured was shifted to hospital where he was pronounced dead due to excessive bleeding.

The police raided the village and arrested one of the alleged killers, while four others were still at large.
