KARACHI, June 1: Spinner Faisal Tahir starred with a 12-wicket haul as Zone-II scored an emphatic innings and three-run drubbing of Zone-III in the PCB Inter-district Under-19 Karachi Region mach at the TMC Ground here on Wednesday.

Off-spinner Faisal grabbed six wickets in each innings for 75 and 51 runs, respectively as Zone-III folded up for totals of 168 and 140 in the two-day fixture.

Earlier, Zone-II piled up 311-7 in their allotted 70 overs with opener Ahmer bin Nasir contributing a quickfire 144 off 143 balls with the aid of 23 fours and one six.

Zone-VI also won their match when they down Zone-VII by seven wickets at the RLCA Ground (Gulberg). Opener Ahsan Ali excelled for the winning side with 102 – his 134-ball knock featuring 15 fours and one six.

The game between Zone-IV and Zone-I petered out in a draw at the Pak Star Ground with the former taking first-innings points.

Zone-II beat Zone-III by an innings and three runs. ZONE-III 168 in 54.5 overs (Mohammad Asim 59; Faisal Tahir 6-75, Farooq Hasan 2-49) and 140 in 49.2 overs (Agha Mustafa 48; Faisal Tahir 6-51, Farooq Hasan 4-62); ZONE-II 311-7 in 70 overs (Ahmer bin Nasir 144, Asim Shah 79, Hamza Naqvi 50 not out; Shahbaz Rahim 3-56).
