LAHORE, April 17: A young cable-operator and a realtor were gunned down allegedly by their former business partners in separate incidents on Sunday.

According to police, the victim, Amanat Ali (35), a resident of Sirajpura locality of Baghbanpura, and the accused, Irfan Butt, had been jointly running a cable network but fell out with each other a few months back over the area of operation and fee collection.

Quoting witnesses, police said on Sunday following an argument Amanat Ali, a father of three, was shot at and injured by Irfan Butt and his three accomplices when he left home for bazaar. Ali later succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.

A case has been registered against Irfan, his brother Affan Butt and their unknown accomplices.

In another incident, a 40-year-old property dealer was shot dead, allegedly by his former partner, following a monetary dispute in E-II, Johar Town.

Quoting the family, Johar Town SHO Attique Ahmad said victim Khurram Butt was called outside his house by Rasheed Butt and his unidentified accomplices at midnight and was shot dead by them following an argument.

The SHO said the victim had lent money to Rasheed and was demanding the amount back.

However, the investigation officer of the case said Khurram and Rasheed, who jointly started the business, had developed differences over some plots which led to the murder.
