JHANG, April 12: A man killed his brother over a family feud at Chak No 442 in the precincts of Jhang Saddar police.

Reports said Shahbaz and Mumtaz, sons of Abdul Ghafur, were married off to two sisters. A few months ago, Mumtaz had a quarrel with his wife and she went to her parents’ house. Mumtaz believed that Shahbaz and his wife were responsible for the breakup. A few days back, the two brothers had an exchange of hot words.

On Monday evening, Mumtaz was present at his house when Shahbaz carrying a hatchet came there and attacked him, killing him on the spot. The accused managed his escape. Police have registered a case.

DEMO: Family and relatives of a kidnapped girl on Tuesday staged a demonstration outside the DPO office against police failure to register a case.

Reports said eight-year-old ‘M’ of Satellite Town had allegedly been kidnapped on April 8. Her family members and relatives went to the police post where in-charge Irum Shah allegedly refused to register a case and misbehaved with them.

On Tuesday, the aggrieved family demonstrated in front of the DPO office.
