RAWALPINDI, April 2: The hearing in the Salman Taseer assassination case was deferred by an anti-terrorism court on Saturday to April 9 after the public prosecutor sought adjournment.
In his application, Islamabad police prosecutor Saiful Malook said he was busy and could not attend the proceedings on Saturday and requested the court to put off the hearing.
Special judge ATC-II Raja Ikhlaq Hussain accepted the application and fixed April 9 as the next date for hearing.
On Saturday, the court was to record the statements of prosecution witnesses against Malik Mumtaz Qadri, the self-confessed killer of Punjab’s former governor.—Reporter
