In an age when commercial music has almost sidelined the centuries old folk tunes, it's rare to come across music thats still pure and honest to it roots. Alliance Francaise, however, dug in and discovered such brilliance in the form of a cross cultural effort by two bands, 'Trio Guerbigny' and 'Pastoral Group Baloch', who have been fusing the traditional Balochi and French folk music from Poitou for years now. It was a mesmerizing performance dubbed 'Koyi Baat Nahi' that took place at Royal Rodale, Karachi, following Islamabad and Lahore. – Photos and text by Uzair Khan/Dawn.com
