KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Rabita Committee showed a strong reaction over Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza's comments in which he declared People's Peace Committee as a PPP wing. MQM also warned that it might quit from the provincial government.

Rabita Committees members Muhammad Anwar, Anis advocate and Muhammad Ashfaque said in a common statement that the  MQM has always warned that the so-called People's Peace Committee is criminal in nature and have support from a number of ministers, but the government has always ignored our concerns.

The Committee members also said that the cat is out of the bag now, and that the Sindh Home Minister accepted that he is the custodian of People's Peace Committee culprits who were involved in dacoity, gang war, killings and kidnapping for ransom.

The Rabita Committee also said that now the coalition with the government is not in the national interest, because of the confessions of Zulfiqar Mirza to own the Peace Committee.

The members also urged the Rabita committee to take immediate notice of Zulfiqar Mirza's statements and make a decision to quite the provincial government.
