LAYYAH, Feb 8: Three trucks of food were looted in Warrah Sehran Union Council in Karor tehsil and voluntaries and NGO representatives were thrashed on Tuesday.

Witness Ghulam Qasim said former union nazim Zulfiqar Khan and his armed men reached the scene where an NGO, Society for Community Development, was distributing foodstuff among the flood affected families. They pointed guns at NGO representatives and volunteers and took away everything.

Social organiser Sohail Ahmad said the foodstuff was provided by the World Food Programme.

Zulfiqar Khan said NGO official Salim and others misbehaved with him when he asked them to streamline the distribution system. He said he left the place after an argument and he knew nothing about what happened after his departure.—Correspondent
