LARKANA, Jan 24: A student of the Chandka Medical College was fired at and injured on the premises of the district and sessions court here on Monday.

Kaleem Aslam, a student of second year of MBBS, who hailed from Astoor in Gilgit-Baltistan was attacked by two unidentified motorcyclists while he was going to the court to appear in a case registered against him for allegedly teasing a female class fellow about two months ago.

He was taken to the Chandka Medical College Hospital where Prof. Dr. Afsar Bhutto performed surgery on him. He is stable now and has been admitted to Surgical Unit-I, said the surgeon.

The CMC administration had served a show-cause notice on Kaleem on Oct 29 last year and subsequently, in the wake of a fact-finding committee's report, his admission was suspended for six months, said sources in the college.

Police have neither arrested any attacker nor registered an FIR. —Correspondent
