Pakistan's left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman was named man of the match after picking up six for 75 against New Zealand at the Seddon Park, Hamilton, and in the process helping his country to a 10-wicket thrashing of the hosts on Sunday.

Rehman, playing only his fifth test, revealed he followed the advice of coaches and made subtle adjustments to his bowling, keeping the conditions in mind.

“The pitch was good for me on the first day, and I was told by my coaches to use my pace more,” he said.

But it wasn't just his bowling that put Pakistan into a winning position. Rehman also scored a vital 28 in a 76-run stand with Adnan Akmal which eventually pushed Pakistan's score to 367.

“My team needed me to bat well and I got a 50 against South Africa in Abu Dhabi, so I just went out there and tried my best,” the 30-year-old added.
