PESHAWAR: Wapda and Army struggled to claim the top position after their athletes won three gold medals each in the athletics meet of the 31st National Games at the Qayyum Sports Complex on Monday.

However, Wapda had an edge over Army as their athletes had also won four silver and as many bronze medals.

Men’s:

Long Jump: 1 Zafar Iqbal (Army); 2 Sami (PAF); 3 Mohammad Akhtar (Wapda).

Javelin Throw: 1 Ifran Hussain (Wapda); 2 Sanaullah (Army); 3 Imran (PAF).

Shot Put: 1 Ashraf Ali (Army); 2 Hafiz Imtiaz (Wapda); 3 Shafqat Ali (Wapda).

Women’s:

Pole Vault: 1 Humaira Akmal (Army); 2 Bilqees Hashmi (Wapda); 3 Nasreen Akhtar (Wapda).

High Jump: 1 Samia (Wapda); 2 Shazia Parveen (Wapda); 3 Sidra Kausar (Army).

Shot Put: 1 Zeenat Parveen (Wapda); 2 Madiha Latif (HEC); 3 Razia Sultana (Wapda).—APP
