Armed man arrested

ISLAMABAD, Dec 18: An armed man was arrested when he tried to enter a Muharram procession cordon, police said on Saturday. A policeman deployed at the security cordon for Muharram procession taken out at F-11/3, during physical search spotted a man with a 9MM pistol. The man was taken into custody and during further search two magazines and 20 cartridges were also recovered from him.

During interrogation the man introduced himself as the guard of a retired government official but failed to produce licence of the weapon.

He was produced in the court of the law from where he was sent to Adiala jail on judicial remand.
