KARACHI: Since the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F's break away from the coalition government, political groups have been in close contact with one another.

Members of the Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid's `like minded` group have been in telephonic contact with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain. Moreover, MQM leader Farooq Sattar on Friday met with Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, a leader of the league’s dissident faction.

Separately, PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and PML-Q leader Mushahid Hussain held a meeting with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. The meeting was held at Fazlur Rehman's residence.

Speaking to media representatives after the meeting, Mushahid Hussain said the PML-Q leadership had arrived to hold a consultative meeting with the leaders of the JUI-F.

On the occasion, Chaudhry Shujaat said he wanted the government to complete its five-year term.

"However, I condemn the dismissal of Azam Khan Swati from the federal cabinet," Shujaat said.

Fazlur Rehman said the direction of politics in the country had now shifted and that political parties were in close contact with one another over various possible scenarios.
