LAHORE, Dec 14: A man allegedly shot dead his brother and injured father and another sibling on Tuesday in Batapur over a family dispute, say police.

Tariq exchanged words with his elder brother, Khalid Mahmood, and in the ensuing scuffle he shot at and injured Khalid. When his father, Muhammad Boota, and younger brother Zahid tried to capture him, Tariq again opened fire injuring both and fled the scene, police said.

Neighbours informed the police about the incident.

Edhi and Rescue 1122 officials shifted the injured to hospital. Khalid died on the way while the condition of the other two was said to be critical.

Quoting the family and neighbours, the police said Tariq had also killed his sister over a family matter some six months ago. He was sent behind bars but was released a couple of months ago when his father pardoned him. killed:

A police official said Irshad, of Minhala village, with his wife Samina Bibi was going on a motorcycle when the suspects held them up at gunpoint. They snatched from Irshad Rs50,000 in cash and a cell phone. One of them opened fire when the motorcyclist offered resistance.

The alleged criminals later fled the scene along with the booty. The injured was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
