Woman found murdered

TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 5: Kamalia Sadar police recovered on Sunday the body of a woman who was allegedly killed by her husband in Chak Chahwali.

Noor Bibi, a mother of four, had been living with her parents for the last one month after developing differences with her husband Muhammad Sharif, an ex-serviceman. On Dec 2, Sharif involved a village council to reconcile with Noor and pledged in front of the people that he would be kind to her. On his promise, Noor got back to her home.

The same day, Sharif phoned his in-laws that his son Umer Hayat had killed Noor and had thrown the body into a forest near Chak 725-GB.

The body was shifted to Toba District Headquarters hospital for autopsy. Kamalia Sadar police arrested both Sharif and Umer Hayat.

Deceased woman's relatives said out of the four children, two were also missing.

Also, Pirmahal police registered a case against Tariq, Aqeel and their six accomplices for killing Jafar Husain and injuring Khadim Husain and Khadim Nizam in Chak 765-GB over a property dispute.

The injured were admitted to Pirmahal rural hospital.

The police were raiding to arrest the suspects.

BURNT: A 65-year-old woman died of burns in Chak 277-JB, Nanglan, in Gojra area.

The family said Sakina Bibi put burning coals under her charpoy on Saturday night to heat up the room. Her bed-sheet caught fire and she was severely burnt. She was taken to Faisalabad Allied Hospital where she succumbed to her wounds on Monday. — Correspondent
