Chinese dominate

SHANGHAI, Dec 5: The hosts stormed to a near-clean sweep of the China Open Super Series in Shanghai on Sunday, the all-powerful country cementing its dominance of the sport.

Chen Long came from a game down to beat his fellow Chinese Bao Chunlai 9-21, 21-14, 21-16 to battle to the men’s singles title.

In the women’s singles, which was also an all-Chinese affair, the Jiang Yanjiao upset Wang Shixian 21-16, 21-19. Wang won gold at the Asian Games in Guangzhou last month.

Men’s doubles: Jung Jae-Sung/Lee Yong-Dae (KOR x4) bt Chai Biao/Zhang Nan (CHN) 21-15, 21-12. Women’s doubles: Cheng Shu/Zhao Yunlei (CHN x2) vs Ma Jin/Zhong Qianxin, declared a walkover.
