ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry on Friday took a suo motu notice of the alleged corruption in the Haj arrangements, television reports said.

A five-member judges’ bench of the apex court will begin hearing the case from December 6.

Chief Justice Iftikhar will be heading the bench while the other members include Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Raja Fayyaz, Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Khalilur Rahman Ramday.

The apex court also sent notices to secretaries of the concerned ministries, Minister for Science and Technology Azam Swati, Minister for Religious Affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi, Chairman NAB, former DG Haj Shakeel Rao, secretary establishment and secretary interior in this regard.

Speaking to a private television channel, Hamid Saeed Kazmi said the case’s hearing will expose the truth.
