KARACHI, Oct 21: Openers Mohammad Afzal and Jaahid Ali hit brilliant centuries as Karachi continued their winning spree in the PCB-Pepsi Cricket Stars Under-16 cricket tournament here on Thursday.

Afzal scored 112 off 102 deliveries with the aid 15 fours and one six while skipper Jaahid slammed 11 boundaries in a 109-ball knock of 104 to help Karachi outclass Multan by 157 runs in the Group ‘B’ match at the National Stadium. The was Karachi’s third success in as many matches.

Multan were bundled out for 150 after being set a daunting target of 308.

In the remaining two games played at the UBL Sports Complex, Quetta defeated Faisalabad by 69 runs at Ground ‘A’, while Hyderabad clinched a thrilling three-wicket win over Sialkot at Ground ‘B’.

At National Stadium: Karachi beat Multan by 157 runs.

At UBL Sports Complex (Ground ‘A’): Quetta beat Faisalabad by 69 runs.

QUETTA 143 in 40.5 overs (Zeeshan Ahmed 33, Sharafuddin 32; Qasim Ali 5-25); FAISALABAD 74 in 30.3 overs (Bilal Jamshed 24; Asim Nazir 4-10, Sharafuddin 3-10).

At UBL Sports Complex (Ground ‘B’): Hyderabad beat Sialkot by three wickets. SIALKOT 227-7 in 44 overs (Usman Malik 44, Syed Zain Shah 37 not out, Mohammad Zubair 32, Waqas Ali 31; Daniyal Rajput 3-46); HYDERABAD 228-7 in 43.2 overs (Darya Khan 56, Arif Ali Shah 55, Hamesh Kumar 28, Mohammad Irfan 26, Daniyal Rajput 26; Daniyal Ashraf 2-38, Mohammad Zahid 2-55).
