ISLAMABAD, Aug 23: The Qami Leekwal Malgari chairman M.R Shafaq and general secretary Faiz Gadoon have expressed deep sorrow over the demise of renowned poet, critic and researcher Saeed Gohar and termed it an irreparable loss for the Pashto literature.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, the office-bearers of the literary organisation said that Saeed Gohar was not only a renowned poet of Pashto but he also contributed to Urdu poetry and literature. They said that he would be remembered for his noteworthy contribution to Pashto poetry and criticism.

“The literati from all over the country are shocked by his death. We pray to Allah Almighty to give strength to the bereaved family to bear this grief and keep the departed soul in eternal peace,” they said.

Saeed Gohar passed away the other day after a brief illness. He was 63. He was author of many books, including Pase Dewar (Urdu poetry), Seeray Laman Kay Omaid (Pashto poetry) and Pata Khazana Fil Haqeeqat (research work).
