LAHORE Raheem Khan of Pakistan took the bronze medal with a 60.59 metre throw in the javelin competition in the 1st Asian Youth Games in Singapore on Thursday.

According to the information made available here, Raheem, who hails from Sargodha, earned Pakistan's first medal in the Games that has a 16-member Pakistan contingent participating in athletics, sailing, swimming and table tennis.

Federal Minister for Sports Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani, Secretary Sports Anisul Hassnain, DG Pakistan Sports Board Syed Amir Hamza Gilani, President, Athletics Federation of Pakistan Lt Gen Mohammad Safdar have congratulated the athlete and Chef-de-Mission Naveed Akram Cheema for the feat.—APP
