ISLAMABAD, June 12: The planning wing of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) will renovate some 140 government flats at sub-sector G-8/1.

The decision was made by the CDA chairman Mir Laiq Shah during a visit to the sub-sectors G-8/1 and G-11/3 on Wednesday.

The occupants of these flats, located at Block-A, complained to the CDA chairman that the flats had no proper kitchens.

In response to another demand of G-8/1 residents, the chairman ordered the construction of a public lavatory in the area.

However, the chairman turned down their demand of a parking-lot at the green belt. He also ordered the renovation and levelling of a children park, located in a depression.

During his visit to G-11/3, the CDA official was informed that the work on construction of streets was in progress and out of 9 under-construction streets, two have been completed.

He said an open place in the sector should be developed as a playland for the children.

To a complaint of improper drainage system, he directed the sanitation directorate to join it with the main sewage line. He also ordered the removal of gypsies from the area on emergent basis.
