KARACHI, Feb. 17: An elderly man was killed by unknown persons in Bhitai Colony, Korangi, on Thursday morning.

Police said Mohammad Yasin Arain, 76, was asleep in his house in Bhitai Colony's Sector-A when unknown persons barged into his house and stabbed Yasin to death.

Police said victim was alone as his wife had died a year back. Police shifted the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination. Police said the killing seems to be the result of some personal enmity.

KILLED: A young man was killed by unknown persons. His body was recovered from in Liaquatabad No. 4 near Dhobi Ghat. Police said the victim who was in his early 20's and suffered a bullet wound to his head. Police shifted the body to Abbasi Hospital for autopsy. Later, the body was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification.

ACCIDENT: A forty-year-old woman died in an accident in Soldier Bazar on Thursday. Police said that Hurmat Bibi was crossing a busy street when a speeding dumper knocked her down.

The woman was taken to Civil Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The errant driver escaped from the spot while police impounded the heavy vehicle. Victim's husband is an employee of the City Government.

CRUSHED: A young man was crushed beneath a locomotive near Baloch Colony on Thursday. Waliur Rehman, 40, was crossing the tracks when he was hit by a locomotive. Police shifted the body to the JPMC for legal formalities.
