KARACHI, May 20: An ‘Alam’ procession, known as ‘Chup Tazia’, will be taken out on Tuesday at 0630 hours here from Nishtar Park and it will terminate at Moosa Lane.

An announcement on Monday said that the following will be the route of the procession.

Nishter Park/Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road/Father Jaminis Road/ M.A. Jinnah Road/ Mansfield Street/Preedy Street; again M.A. Jinnah Road/Boultan Market/ Bombay Bazar/Market Road/Nawab Mohabbat Khanjee Road/ Atma Ram Paretam Das Road to Moosa Lane.

As soon as the procession will start at Nishter Park, all vehicular traffic coming from the city side will be diverted onto Soldier Bazar Road from the junction of M.A.Jinnah Road /Dr Dawoodpota Road.

All buses, minibuses and trucks coming from Nazimabad side will be diverted onto Nishter Road towards Zoological Gardens or towards Martin Road to reach their destinations.

All buses, minibuses and trucks coming from Liaquatabad side shall be diverted onto Martin Road towards the jail. These vehicles will however be permitted to proceed up to the jail and shall proceed via Jamshed Road up to the junction with Dadabhoy Noroji Road and then Kashmir Road, Sharah-i-Quaideen, Almeda crossing via Sharea Faisal and then via Mubarik Shaheed Road, Iqbal Shaheed Road, Lucky Star, Sarwar Shaheed Road, Fatima Jinnah Road, Moulana Wafai Road, Abdullah Haroon Road, Preedy Street to their destination via normal route till the situation so permits. When the head of the procession reaches at the junction of M.A.Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, these vehicles will proceed to Moulana Din Mohammad Wafai Road via the above route and then Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Road, M.A.Jinnah Road till the situation permits when these vehicles will be diverted onto I.I.Chundrigar Road from the junction of Moulana Din Mohammad Wafai Road/Court Road.

Similarly, all buses, minibuses and heavy vehicles approaching the city from Stadium Road side will proceed on via M.A. Jinnah Road. These vehicles will be diverted on Dadabhoy Noroji Road towards Kashmir Road from its junction with the New M.A. Jinnah Road/Link Road behind the Mazar-i-Quaid.

All buses/minibuses and trucks approaching from Super Highway side will be diverted from Al-Azam Square towards Chowrangi No.2 in Nazimabad and will proceed along Estate Avenue , Sher Shah, to Mauripur Road. For return journey these vehicles will also proceed on the same route.

Similarly, all buses, minibuses and trucks approaching from National Highway side will proceed via Rashid Minhas road/Stadium Road/ Sir Shah Mohammad Sulaiman Road/ Hassan Square, Liaquatabad No 10, Nazimabad Chowrangi No 2/ Habib Bank , Manghopir Road Chowrangi/Estate Avenue/ Sher Shah to Maripur Road. For return journey, the same route will be adopted.

All cars, traffic coming from the Quaid’s Mazar side along M.A.Jinnah road will be diverted towards Bahadur Yar Jung Road, no vehicular traffic will be permitted to proceed towards Old Exhibition.

The car traffic will not be permitted to proceed towards the route of the procession from the Guru Mandir roundabout. These vehicles shall be diverted onto Bahadur Yar Jang Road and again onto Brito Road and will proceed via Nishter Road, and under no circumstances these vehicles will be permitted to proceed along Soldier Bazar Road from the junction of Brito road/Bahadur Yar Jang Road.

All vehicular traffic coming towards Old Exhibition Road side via Shahrah-i-Quaideen (except those arriving for “Ziarat or participating in the procession i.e. essential services vehicles) will not be allowed to proceed from the intersection of Shahrah- i-Quaideen/Link Road behind the Mazar. No buses/minibuses and trucks will be permitted to proceed beyond his roundabout towards Old Exhibition.

All traffic going towards Saddar and other Colonies will not be permitted to proceed towards Empress Market from the junction of (a) Preedy Street/Sarmad Road, (b) Preedy Street/ M.A. Jinnah Road (c) and Shahrah-i-Liaquat /Mohammad Bin Qasim Road when the head of the procession reaches near the crossing of M.A. Jinnah Road/Mansfield Street.

Similarly, all vehicles proceeding towards Saddar via M.A.Jinnah Road will not be permitted to proceed from its junction with Preedy Street, Aga Khan Road and Mansfield Street.

No vehicular traffic will be permitted to proceed towards M.A. Jinnah Road from its junction with Preedy Street when the procession clears this intersection.

No vehicular traffic on Aga Khan Road from Zoological Gardens side will be permitted to proceed towards M.A. Jinnah Road/ Aga Khan Road crossing.

No vehicles will be permitted to park along the route of the procession and the route will be kept clear from all parking and other obstructions.—APP
