LARKANA, Feb: 1 Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) secretary-general Dr Safdar Sarki has termed the present form of government in the country ‘pseudo democracy’ and urged the Sindhis to unite for their rights in the true spirit of G.M. Syed’s philosophy who, according to him, had revived the Sindhis’ identity.

Addressing a long march which started at the Jinnah Bagh’s gate here on Sunday, he mentioned figures regarding the natural resources of Sindh. He said Sindh generated 71 per cent revenue of the country but in return got a meager amount was unjustified.

Dr Sarki accused the rulers of pitting Sindhis against Sindhis to serve their interests. He asked the people of Sindh to shun their petty differences and end tribal disputes and stop disrespecting women.

Addressing the meting, the JSQM chairman Basheer Qureshi accused a province of killing Z.A. Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and Murtaza Bhutto and said that the Pakistan People’s Party was still protecting the interests of that province.

He accused the same province of usurping the resources of Sindh. He said that while people in Sindh were starving the slogan for more provincial autonomy was merely eyewash. He said that the JSQM did not accept the claim of non-Sindhis on the capital city of Sindh and added that Sindh was rich in natural resources which were always taken away fraudulently.

He said it was time for the people of Sindh to wake up, unite and do something in line with the philosophy of G.M. Syed. He said being the true followers of G.M.Syed, they would not give up their struggle.

He said that the JSQM would inform the European Union about Sindh and its secular identity and added that fundamentalism was the major problem which gave birth to terrorism. He asked the European Union to study Pakistan and see how oppressed nations were living here.

Supporting the struggle of Baloch people, he said that they were being killed and targeted only because they were demanding their rights.

Remembering the sacrifices of students at Thori Railway Crossing, he said that dramas were being staged to protect a particular province.

He pledged to continue the march and announced that a rally would be held in Nawabshah on March 15.Zafar Korejo, Athar Soomro, Muzaffar Sandano, Imdad Mangi, and Habibullah Bhutto also spoke on the occasion and their speeches centered on the rights and resources of Sindh.

Earlier on, Mr Qureshi, Dr Sarki and other JSQM leaders led a big procession, which started from Shaikh Zayed Chowk.
