HYDERABAD, Sept 22: Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has said that the proposed privatisation of Qadirpur gas field is a new ploy to usurp natural resources of the province.

In a statement, he said that the auction of natural resources of Sindh to extricate the country from the economic crisis will not be tolerated. He claimed that the gas, oil, coal and mineral resources being explored here were the property of Sindh, which had been usurped by the centre.

He said, the people of Sindh had been protesting for years to get back the ownership of their resources but the federation was not prepared to give up its exploitative policies. He pointed out that Sindh was rich in natural resources but the people of Sindh were living in abject poverty and its university graduates were running from pillar to post for employment.

He said agriculture and education of Sindh were in pitiable condition and the people were neither provided clean drinking water nor other basic facilities including gas.

He said even for its immediate needs, the Sindh government was dependent on the centre.

The Pakistan People’s Party government, for whom the people of Sindh had voted, has totally disappointed the Sindhi people, Magsi said that added that Sindh was being meted out step-motherly treatment.
