Three killed in clash

SHIKARPUR, March 20: Three people were killed in an armed clash between Shar and Khosa tribesmen within the jurisdiction of Lakhi Ghulam Shah police station on Thursday.

Himat Ali Shar, Hussain Bux Shar and their guest Saadullah Jagirani were killed when an exchange of fire took place between the two rival groups.

The motive behind the clash was said to be a dispute over a piece of agricultural land which has claimed 15 lives so far.

No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

RELEASED: Four victims of kidnapping, advocate Barkat Ali Bijarani, flour mill owner Choudhry Ashique Ali, his son Asif Ali, and his mill manager Parvez, reached their homes in Khanpur after being released from the clutches of kidnappers on Thursday.

A month ago they were kidnapped by armed men in the jurisdiction of Sultankot police station and kidnappers had demanded Rs10 million as ransom for their recovery.

According to them they were freed by the efforts of notables of the areas while police completely failed in their recovery.
