KARACHI, Feb 19: The Feb 18 poll results seem to have proved wrong electoral assessments about ‘surprises’ in the city as the results of the National Assembly and provincial assembly seats indicate that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement is a major winner.

According to official results made available by the election commission, the MQM secured 17 out of 20 NA seats and 35 out of 42 PS seats.

The Pakistan People’s Party won three NA and seven PS seats. The Awami National Party also secured a seat in the Sindh Assembly.

Results of the PS-114 and PS-128 constituencies have not yet been announced. In PS-114 the main candidates are Irfanullah Khan Marwat (independent) and Abdul Rauf Siddiqui of the MQM.
