KABUL, Nov 23: A Nato soldier was killed and another wounded in a rocket attack in southeastern Afghanistan on Thursday, the Nato-led International Security Assistance Force said.

An ISAF security patrol was struck by an “insurgent rocket attack” in the tense province of Ghazni, the force said in a statement.

“ISAF troops engaged with small arms fire and called in close air support.

The casualties were immediately evacuated to an ISAF medical facility. ”The 37-nation force leaves the announcement of the nationalities of its casualties to the home nation involved. Most of the troops in Ghazni are Americans, who make up about half of the 40,000 foreign troops in Afghanistan.—AFP
