MIRAMSHAH, Nov 19: A cleric was killed on suspicion of spying for the United States and his body was found near Razmak in North Waziristan on Sunday.

Sources said a chit found on the body read that Maulvi Mohammad Hashim was a `US spy’ and that he had been punished in accordance with the Shariat.

Witnesses said the body had two bullet wounds with slit neck.

Maulvi Hashim, 45, was an aide of Maulvi Salahuddin, who was kidnapped and killed on suspicion of spying in the same area on Nov 3. Both the clerics belonged to the Musaki village.
