LAHORE, Nov 8: The National Cricket Academy (NCA) has announced talent hunt and coaching programmes for Open age category and under-15 players.

NCA director Mudassar Nazar said at a press conference on Wednesday that a panel of coaches has been formed to conduct trials and then impart training to the selected players.

The panel includes Mohsin Kamal, Nadeem Abbasi, Amir Akbar, Mohtashim Rashid, Abdur Rehman, Raj Hans, Mansoor Rana, Furrukh Zaman, Akhtar Sarfraz, Sadiq Mohammad, Saleem Jaffer, Sagheer Abbas, Mohsin Sheikh, Azam Khan, Tahir Mahmood, Azmat Rana, Taimoor Azam, Javed Hayat, Waseem Hyder, Tanvir Shoukat, Athar Laiq, Zafar Sarfraz, Sabih Azhar and Shahid Anwar.

He said the programme would simultaneously be held for Open age category in Quetta, Shikarpur and Mirpur from Nov 17 to 30.

It will be organised from Nov 20 to Dec 3 in Peshawar and from Nov 23 to Dec 5 in Multan. Players from far-flung areas of FATA would get the training at Peshawar.

In second phase, the programme for U-15 players would be launched from Dec 3 in Karachi, Quetta, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Faislabad, Sukkhur, Lahore, Peshawar, and Rawalpindi.

Mudassar said the NCA was trying to translate various cricket books in Urdu, including the ICC law book, for convenience of the cricketers.
