QUETTA: A woman on Friday accused a police officer and two of his associates of killing her son and his friend in an alleged shooting last month, demanding criminal proceedings against them and threatening to set herself on fire if justice is denied.

Speaking at a press conference at the Quetta Press Club, Sariab resident Bibi Sharaf alleged that the Station House Officer (SHO) of the New Sariab Police Station and two associates opened fire on her son, Noorullah, and his friends as they returned from a picnic in Bolan on Sept 25.

The shooting killed Noorullah, a garage worker, and his friend Shafi Muhammad, while injuring a third companion, Zaheer Ahmed, Bibi Sharaf said. She further alleged that police filed a fabricated criminal case following the incident to cover up the killings.

“If justice is not delivered, I will set myself on fire in front of the press club,” Sharaf said. “The concerned authorities will be held responsible for the consequences.”

Sharaf said she has submitted multiple formal complaints to the local police station seeking a criminal case against the SHO and his associates, but officials have taken no action.

She appealed directly to Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Home Minister Ziaullah Langove and Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir to intervene and register criminal charges against the officers.
